onBildung and AI — What We Do, How We Think

onBildung GmbH develops e-learning modules and learning tools for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the DACH region. We actively use AI in our daily work — in conception, development and quality assurance. At the same time, we keep pedagogical effectiveness front and centre: AI is a tool, not a substitute for didactic thinking.

What We Offer

E-Learning Modules

We develop SCORM-compatible e-learning modules that integrate into existing LMS/LXP environments. Our modules are didactically sound — competence-oriented, not slide-heavy. Typical development time: 2–6 weeks depending on scope.

Learning Tools

Browser-based applications for practising and applying knowledge — individually developed, no installation required. Optionally with AI support: e.g. adaptive feedback, automated assessment, language-based interaction.

trainothek®

The self-learning portal for companies — helps employees independently manage new tools and organisational change. Currently in development (as of 2026).

Our Approach to AI in Learning

AI is changing how adults learn — faster, more adaptive, more personalised. But effective learning needs more than technology: it needs clear learning objectives, meaningful structure and transfer into practice.

We use AI where it creates real value:

  • Content development: Structuring, draft texts, variations — always with human review
  • Learning tools: Adaptive feedback, automated assessment, language processing
  • Quality assurance: Consistency checks, accessibility, didactic coherence

What we don't do: deliver AI-generated content unfiltered. Every module is reviewed, refined and signed off by us.

EU AI Act — What This Means for SMEs

Since February 2025, Article 4 of the EU AI Act applies: companies must ensure that employees who use AI systems have sufficient AI literacy. This applies to all company sizes and sectors — regardless of whether a company develops AI itself or merely uses it.

What this means in practice:

  • Demonstrable AI training for affected employees
  • Role-specific measures — not one course for everyone
  • Documentation of training measures is strongly recommended

onBildung develops e-learning modules that meet these requirements — practical, lean and GDPR-compliant.
